- Cross-border custody arrangements
- Intercultural parenting differences
- Complex and high-conflict cases
- Communication breakdown between co-parents
Can't face a joint session right now?
There's another way
Some situations make direct mediation difficult or impossible. I use a structured shuttle approach — working with each party separately, moving toward resolution without requiring direct engagement.
- High-conflict separations where joint sessions have broken down
- Cases where one party is based outside the UAE
- Situations involving legal representatives on both sides
- Complex financial disputes requiring careful structured negotiation
- Cases where direct communication feels unsafe
"If sitting in the same room doesn't feel possible right now, that's completely fine. Many clients find this approach less stressful than a joint session."

How the priority package works

About me
I am a UK-trained and accredited Family Mediator with twelve years of experience working with separating couples, co-parents, and international families.
I expanded my UK business to Dubai because I saw a gap. The UAE has one of the highest concentrations of international families anywhere in the world. Families are navigating separation, relocation, cultural difference, and the weight of being far from home, often without the support networks they'd have back in their own countries. Many of them are frightened of the legal system. Many of them can't afford, or simply don't want, litigation across two countries.
What I offer is a private, confidential and structured space to have the conversations that need to happen. I don't take sides. I don't give legal advice. I help people talk, and more importantly, hear each other, in a way that moves things forward.
I work in English (translators can be arranged) and I work with families from all over the world. I understand that the cultural dynamics in the room are as important as the legal ones. That's not a complication; that's where I'm most useful.

How I work
Every case starts with a free conversation. No obligation, no paperwork, just a chance for you to ask questions and for me to understand your situation. From there, if mediation feels right, we move at your pace, starting with individual assessment meetings, then joint or separate sessions when both parties are ready.
Everything is confidential. Nothing discussed leaves the room. And nothing agreed is legally binding unless you choose to make it so.
How it works
A clear, structured process — from your first conversation to a final agreement.
Free first conversation
You contact me by phone, WhatsApp, or email. No paperwork, no commitment, no charge. You tell me what's happening. I explain what mediation involves. We work out together whether it's the right option.
Individual consultations
Each party has an individual consultation — separately, privately, and confidentially. Nothing you tell me is shared with the other party without your permission.
Joint sessions
When both parties are ready, we come together for joint mediation sessions. I facilitate the conversation — making sure both parties are heard and helping you move toward practical agreements. In person anywhere in the UAE, or online via video call.
Agreements
As we reach agreements I document them in plain, clear language. Nothing is legally binding at this stage — you can review, adjust, and confirm everything before it's finalised.
Final documentation
Once everything is agreed I produce the final documentation — a memorandum of understanding, a parenting plan, or both. Your own solicitors can make any agreement legally binding from the documentation I produce.
Things people often worry about
What if my partner won't participate?
Mediation works best when both parties choose to be there. But in many cases, once one party understands what mediation involves, the other comes around. A free first call costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
What if things get heated?
That's what I'm trained for. If a session becomes unworkable, we pause. Nothing is forced.
Does it matter which emirate I'm in?
No. I work in person across the UAE and online. Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah — wherever you are, we can make it work.
What if one of us has already left the UAE?
Online mediation works across time zones and borders. Some of my most effective work is done with one party in the UAE and the other in the UK or elsewhere.
Is it confidential?
Completely. Nothing discussed in mediation can be used in court proceedings. Nothing leaves the room without both parties' agreement.
Do I need a lawyer?
No. Mediation is separate from legal proceedings. You may want a solicitor to review any final agreement — but that's your choice and happens after mediation, not during it.
Frequently asked questions
About mediation
What is family mediation?
Family mediation is a private, structured process where a trained neutral helps two parties have the conversations they need to have. The mediator doesn't take sides, doesn't give legal advice, and doesn't make decisions for you. The goal is to help both parties reach their own agreements, at their own pace, in a confidential setting.
Is mediation the same as counselling or therapy?
No. Counselling focuses on emotional healing. Mediation focuses on practical outcomes — agreements about finances, children, and property. I am a mediator, not a therapist.
Is mediation legally binding?
Not automatically. Agreements only become legally binding if both parties choose to formalise them through their own solicitors. This means you can explore options and test agreements without fear, and only commit to what you're genuinely happy with.
Do I have to be going through a divorce to use mediation?
No. Many of my clients are not divorcing — they need help with relocation decisions, co-parenting arrangements, blended family dynamics, or simply a structured space to have a conversation that keeps breaking down at home.
What language are sessions conducted in?
All sessions are conducted in English.
About the process
What happens in the first conversation?
The first conversation is free, informal, and completely confidential. You tell me what's happening. I explain what mediation involves. There is no paperwork, no commitment, and nothing to prepare. It usually takes around twenty to thirty minutes.
Does my partner have to agree to mediation?
Mediation works best when both parties choose to participate. However, once one party understands what mediation actually involves, the other often comes around. Contact me anyway — we can talk through how to approach that conversation.
What happens if we can't agree on something?
Not every issue gets resolved in every session, and that's normal. We work through things one at a time. If a particular issue reaches an impasse, we can set it aside and return to it. Mediation doesn't have to resolve everything in one go.
How long does the whole process take?
It depends on complexity and both parties' readiness. Some cases are resolved via the priority case package in a single dedicated day. Others involve several sessions over a few weeks.
Can we do sessions online?
Yes, completely. Online sessions via video call work just as effectively as in-person sessions. Many clients choose online sessions even when both are in the same city — for convenience and privacy.
Specific to the UAE and international families
Does it matter which emirate I'm based in?
No. I work in person across the UAE and online. Whether you're in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, or anywhere else, we can make it work.
What if one of us has already left the UAE?
Online mediation works across time zones and borders. I regularly work with families where one party is in the UAE and the other is in the UK, Europe, or elsewhere.
We are from different countries. Does that affect anything?
Intercultural family mediation is one of my specialisms. When one partner is British or European and the other is from the Gulf, Asia, or Africa, the cultural dynamics in the room matter as much as the practical issues. I am experienced in working with these differences — sensitively, and without taking sides.
One of us is worried the other will take the children out of the UAE. Can mediation help?
Yes. This is one of the most common concerns I work with. Mediation can help both parties reach clear agreements about child arrangements, travel, and communication. If you are in immediate fear of child abduction, please seek urgent legal advice as well as contacting me.
Is this completely confidential?
Completely. Everything discussed in mediation is confidential. I will never share your details or your situation with any third party. Your privacy is protected at every stage.
Practical questions
Do I need a lawyer to use mediation?
No. You do not need a lawyer present during sessions. However, once agreements are reached, you may want your own solicitor to review the documentation before making anything legally binding.
Can mediation run alongside legal proceedings?
Yes. Some clients use mediation to resolve certain matters privately while legal proceedings handle others. I am happy to work alongside your legal advisers where appropriate.
How do I pay?
Payment is accepted in AED. An invoice is provided for every session. Full details are confirmed at the point of booking.
What is your cancellation policy?
I ask for at least 48 hours notice for cancellation or rescheduling. Late cancellations may be charged at the full session rate.
I'm not sure mediation is right for my situation. What should I do?
Contact me. The first conversation is free and there is absolutely no obligation. If mediation isn't the right tool I will tell you honestly and point you toward more appropriate support.
